At Earth Animal, we aren’t just passionate about animal health and well-being, we are committed to furthering the causes of animals, people, and the earth both in our corporate culture and in our actions. That is why we donate 1% of our annual net sales to organizations and initiatives that also espouse our values. For February and March, we are supporting the Katal Center in recognition of our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
The Katal Center is an agency focused on bettering our society by creating initiatives and partnering with citizens and organizations to ramp up the pace of change in the areas of equity, health, and justice. Their name – derived from the scientific term catalyst, or change agent, – says it all. Their goal is to act as an agent of change to make our world a better, more inclusive, and more equitable place.
We believe firmly in the notion put forth in the preamble of the Declaration of Independence that “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” The Katal Center is working towards making this concept more than mere words on a centuries’ old document but to be a reality for the most marginalized and vulnerable among us.
Earth Animal is proud to support the work of this organization through our 1% Promise campaign and help the Katal Center eliminate mass incarceration and the government’s war on drugs through their leadership development and community organizing programs in New York and Connecticut. It is our hope that the success of these programs will provide a model for the rest of the country, taking this important work from the local to the national level and helping to create a more just and equitable society for everyone.
