Change a Dog’s Life Today!

How Can You Change a Dog's Life?

Change a Pet’s Life

All week, we have shared our stories about how members of the Earth Animal Pack changed a dog’s life – and were changed themselves. We are passionate about preserving and enhancing the quality of life for animals and our team lives that commitment every day in their own lives. As you read our stories, we hope that you are reminded of the magic that comes from adopting an animal, and the beautiful bond we share with our best friends.

How can you change an animal’s life?

Shelters and rescue organizations do so much to help animals in need. Now, and anytime, we can all help them in their mission to save animals who have been abandoned, neglected, or lost. From adopting a shelter animal to volunteering, there are many ways you can help to change a pet’s life today and every day.

Adopt, Foster, or Sponsor

We’ve said this before: adopt, don’t shop. There are countless animals in shelters across the country waiting patiently for their fur-ever homes. If you’ve been planning on adding a new animal companion to your family, this is the perfect day to go down to your local animal shelter and bring an animal home. If you can’t make a long-term commitment to an animal companion at this time, consider fostering to keep the animal out of the shelter while she waits for adoption, or sponsoring an animal to help ease the financial burden of caring for her while she awaits an adopter. Sponsoring also makes adoption more likely as your sponsorship will typically cover adoption fees.

Volunteer and Donate

Animal shelters aren’t big-budget operations. They rely on volunteers and donations to do their life-saving work. If you have some spare time, offer it to your local shelter to help with cleaning cages or socializing the animals. And if you have some extra sheets or blankets, the shelter would surely welcome those, too, as bedding for the animals. Call your local shelter and ask if they have a wish list you can shop from or donate some money so they can buy what they need.

Spread the Word

Share information about shelter animals with friends, family, and social media contacts. Remind everyone about the wonderful work animal shelters do and how much support they need. Most importantly, ask them to help change a pet’s life by adopting a shelter animal or by supporting the work of shelters in any way they can.

It’s so easy to make a difference in the life of a shelter animal. What will you do to change a pet’s life today?
