We use the collars in addition to the topical powders and occasionally the internal powders, given the high density of ticks in our area. The collars are very effective for our cockapoo dog, easy to apply. She tolerates it very well. It has a nice scent, and the collar is adjustable.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! It caused a bad reaction to my cat around his neck area. His rash spread and had to pay $767! They did not want to reimburse my money at all. They said that they have little complaints but this does not mean that every animal will react the same. They say 100% guaranteed but did not meet their promise. Im so unhappy with this product and have struggled emotionally and financially. I have been stressed trying antibiotics orally and sprays. Also needed to get him shaved and antibiotic injections. Please stay away!

DO NOT BUY. My cat had the worst reaction to this collar. I had to shave his neck and head to try and treat it on my own. It quickly got out of control and we ended up at the vet spending a good amount of money treating his awful skin rash/infection. This will probably take months of recovery.

Horrible experience.
My cat developed the skin rash and irritation…
How can’t you know that the peppermint oil is toxic for cats???

I have been using these collars on my outside cats for about 3 years. They have been wonderful at keeping fleas and ticks off of them. Keep in mind that you HAVE to make sure you do not have an infestation in your yard because then nothing would be effective, not even putting pesticides all over your pet. It’s all about breaking the cycle with fleas ticks and can take months. So treat those yards early spring! We live in a very, very heavily wooded area in Tennessee and these collars work. They may get a tick every once in a while, but that is with any product that you use. They are also great at keeping mosquitos away from your pets face. Thank you Earth Animal for all that you do! Forever customer here, y’all!

I really wanted this product to work for us because of the natural ingredients, but It didn’t work at all for my dogs and gave my cat such a bad reaction his skin is still recovering. He got really irritated around the collar and scratched so much it bled in less than a week with the collar on. Definitely don’t recommend especially for cats.

My dog has severe flea allergies so unfortunately this doesn’t do the trick completely but I love the fact that it’s all natural.
I was given a full refund immediately when I called and told them it wasn’t enough.
Wonderful company and customer service.

My cat started vomiting shortly after I put the collar on her. I suspect the peppermint as the cause. She recovered after the collar was removed.

Extremely disappointed. I have had a flea problem for months now–but before you judge that you should know that I am trying everything before I go chemical on the environment. I have done chemical drops/injectives, natural spray, diatomaceous earth, Earth Animal internal powder, lots and lots of cleaning, dehydrating the environment with DE (I lived in a sandbox for a solid week), homemade flea traps, natural soaps, and -to my 3 kitties’ displeasure- lots and lots of flea combing and a move where I cleaned everything I own top to bottom and sprayed with natural flea killer AND YET THEY LIVE… they are devils.
I work for a pet nutrition store (which will remain unnamed) and we just received these collars in stock. I was/am desperate to find something natural to use in conjunction with the chemical drops on my babies in addition to the powder. Something that would show a more immediate effect. (Only one of my cats will actually eat the powder and has been for weeks now, however she is not left alone by the fleas quite yet (I know it can take time)). And it is great to use the products I sell so I can give personal recommendations.
I put the collar on my long hair because she has the worst of the fleas. It smells very strongly of peppermint which she did note care for, and neither did I, but the fleas need to GO AWAY.
It is a bit of a pain to click into place but once that was done I left it on her for over a week. Fleas were literally crawling on the collar and hiding underneath it to get away from my flea comb.
I contacted Earth Animal customer service inquiring about the collar with three questions: how long does it take to work? how does it work? and does it need to touch my cat’s skin?
The response I received (when I finally did get one, I had to contact twice) was not professional at all. The employee did not read what I wrote at all and avoided answering me three times. They tried to be helpful in giving me tips on getting rid of fleas but as you can tell from the message above (one very similar to what she read) I clearly know how to handle fleas… I’m just obviously not very good at it. I am looking for a way to stop my babies from suffering while I figure out what the heck is going on. She told me that the collar should repel and not kill three times. I KNOW. I promise I know. I just want the fleas to stop biting my poor things.
After the third try with her I did get the answer for two questions. It should be working right away and it does not need to touch my cat’s skin. However that does not answer my question as to how it works. I believe I have an idea based on my own knowledge but wanted an answer from the company, one I never recieved. Instead she suggested I had one of a handful of defective collars that must not have had enough of the oils infused into it. Based off smell alone, I highly doubt that. She assured me I could return it to my place of work and exchange it for another and my place of work would not take any financial loss as Earth Animal has a 100% guarantee. I already knew this, working for my small pet store.
My main question was not answered, I was not listened to, the rep was clearly texting on her phone, and the response of the rep was regarding my place of work’s peace of mind which had nothing to do with me as a consumer. I do not represent my place of work outside of work. I was not happy.
I hope the flea powder will start working soon. I am told it can take up to a month, but I will not be recommending this collar because of the lack of performance of the product and the customer service team. I am disappointed to say that I have started using chemical sprays on the environment, something I was hoping to avoid, and am at a loss with what else to add into the mix for my cats that might show some results.
I understand that one employee does not represent an entire company but I will not be recommending this product.

Is this to be used in conjunction with the powder, drops, shampoo and spray? Or does it replace one of those?
