Minimizing Our
Environmental Footprint
Stewart Shanley, EA CEOFor us, the clue is in our name. We are called Earth Animal for a reason, and as such, we want to play our part in improving the wellness and longevity of not only Earth Animals, but the planet that sustains us.”
Reducing our dependence on plastics
Today, we are 93% of our goal towards our commitment to transition 100% of our packaging to recyclable, reusable, or compostable by 2025. In addition, all our displays, collateral, and signage are made with sustainable, recyclable, or FSC-certified materials.
As we work towards that goal, we’re taking action today by being certified plastic neutral with rePurpose Global. Through our partnership, we are removing as much plastic from nature as we use in our business. Learn more about the impact of our plastic-neutrality journey. Impact Analysis
We have worked with a third party to conduct a Life Cycle Analysis of our No-Hide Chews and our product packaging to guide our future decisions & innovation. We have completed Scope 1 & 2 Green House Gas Accounting since 2021 and created targeted improvement plans. Compared to the 2021 base year, in 2023, we decreased absolute emissions by 34.8%, or 163 tCO2e. That’s the equivalent of about 417,000 miles driven by an average gasoline-powered vehicle! And part of our 2023 climate action plan to address our carbon footprint is working with Native Energy. Native Energy is a certified B Corp, that offers HelpBuild™ Carbon Offset. Help Build™ carbon offsets are a new, progressive type of carbon offset with a bigger impact than conventional offsets. We offset a total of 306.14 tons with Native Energy and the specific support project is From Waste to Fuel: Improving Agriculture and Livelihoods in Uganda.
Driving Industry Progress
To help our industry minimize the impacts of our packaging, we are active members of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition to help find plastic alternatives, and Flex Forward, an in-store packaging take back program.
Every day, with every business decision, we look for ways to reduce our impact and help to heal the Earth.
