Taurine, an amino acid, is vital for both overall health and specifically for the proper functioning of the heart & eyes. In general, dogs can synthesize taurine in sufficient quantities to meet their requirements. Given the recent FDA advisory of a possible link between grain- free diets and dilated cardiomyopathy in dogs, we decided that taurine should be included in our Daily Health Nuggets for Dogs.
