Humans and most animals have a naturally occurring system called the Endocannabinoid System. This system was named after the plant, Cannabis sativa because this system is most receptive to the effects of the compounds in the cannabis plant. The purpose of the Endocannabinoid System is to help the body maintain homeostasis or balance to include relaxation, reduction of inflammation and resistance to disease.
It has been discovered that the Cannabis plant contains hundreds of active compounds with the two most commonly known and studied: CBD and THC. THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is known for its psychoactive (hallucinogenic) effect. CBD (cannabidiol) is shown to have anti-inflammatory,
