Crafted with Heart + Science.

Heart without science is hope. Science without heart is just chemistry. For 45 years we have refused to choose between them. Every ingredient, every formula, every standard we hold is the result of that refusal. Veterinary expertise and genuine ethical conviction, working together. Because your dogs and cats deserves both. And so do you.

Veterinary-led. Always.

Every recipe, every chew, every formula is shaped by deep veterinary expertise because good intentions without knowledge are not enough.

Built on conscience. Held to account.

Gut-first philosophy. High welfare sourcing. B Corp certification. These are not separate initiatives. They are all expressions of the same founding conviction: that caring for animals and caring for the planet are the same thing.

Your Questions, Answered

You ask and we answer! FAQs about No-Hide Rolls.

What is air-drying?

Gently Air-Dried. Deeply nourishing. Less heat. More life. Air-drying is a slow, gentle process that removes moisture while protecting the nutrients food naturally holds—no high heat, no shortcuts. Why it matters: • Nutrients remain intact and easier to absorb

  • Gentler on digestion than heavily processed foods
  • Creates a nutrient-dense food, you feed less per meal
  • Preserves real, usable nutrition

Air-dried at Riverstone, our SQF-certified kitchen in Maryland, where we control the quality from start to finish. Unlike kibble made through high-heat extrusion, air-dried food preserves more of the natural nutrition.

The result is shelf-stable food with many benefits of fresh feeding, minus the refrigeration and hassle. Just open the bag and serve.

Why is air-dried better than kibble?

Most kibble is made through extrusion, a high-heat, high-pressure process designed for efficiency and scale. Air-drying takes a different approach. At Riverstone, our gentle air-drying process slowly removes moisture using low temperatures and controlled airflow. This creates a shelf-stable food while helping protect the natural structure and nutritional value of real ingredients. This is how we deliver exceptional nutrition. Nutrient Integrity: By avoiding high heat, more of what matters stays intact, proteins, vitamins, and naturally occurring nutrients. Digestive Support: Gently processed ingredients can be easier for the body to break down and utilize, supporting digestion and nutrient absorption. Concentrated Nutrition: With moisture removed, every bite delivers more nutrition. You feed less per meal, and a bag goes further than expected. No High-Heat Shortcuts: Air-drying takes time, precision, and control, done in our own Riverstone Kitchen, where every batch is crafted with intention. Our food made differently, with a process designed to protect, not compromise. That’s exceptional nutrition.

Is Wisdom a complete and balanced diet?

Yes! Wisdom is complete and balanced for All Life Stages. Formulated by Dr. Bob Goldstein, every recipe is designed to meet AAFCO standards, supporting dogs from puppyhood through their senior years. But completeness is just the baseline. What makes Wisdom different is the quality of that nutrition. We use thoughtfully sourced proteins, including nutrient-dense organs, paired with whole food ingredients to deliver naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, and essential nutrients in forms the body can recognize and use. That’s what allows Wisdom to nourish dogs across every life stage, not by adding more fillers, but by starting with better inputs. And while Wisdom can absolutely be fed as a sole diet, we believe in something more: variety. Rotational feeding matters. Different proteins. Different nutrients. Different benefits. Rotation helps: – Support a more diverse and resilient microbiome – Reduce ingredient fatigue and sensitivities – Better reflect how animals are meant to eat over time Wisdom was designed for this. Our recipes work beautifully on their own, or as part of a rotational approach, Because real nutrition should evolve and your dog's diet should too. And your dog’s diet shouldn’t be either. That’s the difference between meeting a standard, and raising it.

How much Wisdom should I feed my dog?

Because Wisdom is truly nutrient-dense, every bite delivers more of what your dog actually needs, and less of what they don’t. We gently remove moisture through our air-drying process, not nutrients. What remains is concentrated, high-quality nutrition from real muscle meat and organs, naturally rich in essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and healthy fats. This means your dog’s body gets more usable nourishment per serving. So you feed less, but your dog gets more. More nourishment. More satisfaction. More from every bowl. Because the body isn’t just full, it’s fulfilled. What that means for feeding: Start with the guidelines on the bag based on your dog’s weight, then adjust based on activity level, age, and body condition. A few things to keep in mind:

  • Portions will look smaller than kibble, that’s the point
  • Active dogs may need more; less active dogs may need less
  • Puppies and nursing mothers have increased nutritional needs (see packaging)

When in doubt, your veterinarian can help tailor feeding to your dog’s specific need

How do I transition my dog to Wisdom?

Slow is kind. Thoughtful is better. When you’re introducing real, whole-food nutrition, give your dog’s system the time it needs to adjust. A gradual transition helps the gut adapt, and sets the foundation for long-term success. A simple 7–10 day path: Days 1–3

  • 75% current food
  • 25% Wisdom

Days 4–6

  • 50% current food
  • 50% Wisdom

Days 7–9

  • 25% current food
  • 75% Wisdom

Day 10+

  • 100% Wisdom

Follow your dog’s lead Every dog is different. Some move through quickly. Others, especially those with more sensitive systems, may need a little more time (up to 2 weeks or more). If you notice loose stool, that’s your signal to slow down, not stop. Stay at the current step a bit longer before moving forward. What to expect As your dog transitions to Wisdom, many pet parents notice:

  • Smaller, firmer stools
  • More consistent energy
  • Increased enthusiasm at mealtime

Because when the body recognizes real food, it responds. One bowl at a time. One step at a time. That’s how lasting change happens.

What proteins/recipes does Wisdom come in?

Seven recipes. Seven ways to nourish. One shared standard. We don’t think in “flavors.” We think in sources, landscapes, and purpose, each recipe rooted in where it comes from, and what it brings to the bowl.

For simplicity. For sensitivity. For going back to basics. Single-Protein Recipes

  • Chicken — GAP-rated chicken, thoughtfully raised, paired with nutrient-rich organs and sustainably sourced sardines. Clean. Digestible. Foundational.
  • Turkey — Lean, gentle turkey with organs and sardines. A quiet, steady choice for dogs who do best with less complexity.

For variety. For instinct. For the full spectrum of nutrition. “From the…” Recipes

  • From the Land — Grass-fed venison, beef, and bison. Red meats, rich and grounding. Strength from open pastures.
  • From the Sea — Wild-caught catfish and clams. Mineral-rich, deeply nourishing. Drawn from clean waters.
  • From the Air — Quail, duck, and goose. Diverse poultry, thoughtfully sourced. Lighter proteins with depth.
  • From the Seed — A plant-forward recipe with lentils, sunflower, alfalfa, quinoa, and potatoes. Proof that nourishment can come from the soil, too.
  • From the Soil — Crickets and black soldier fly larvae. A more sustainable path forward. Nutrient-dense, low impact. (Adult dogs only.)

What they all share:

  • Real, whole ingredients, nothing anonymous
  • Muscle + organ nutrition for depth and balance
  • Made in our own Riverstone Kitchen, Maryland
  • Formulated to meet AAFCO standards for complete and balanced nutrition

Different sources. Different strengths. One philosophy. Choose one. Rotate many. Follow your dog’s lead.

Because better food doesn’t come from one place. It comes from understanding them all.

Where is Wisdom Dog Food made?

Wisdom is crafted in the USA at Riverstone, our own SQF-certified facility in Maryland. We didn’t partner with a co-packer. We built our own. Riverstone was designed from the ground up to make food differently, under Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification, a globally recognized standard for food safety, quality, and traceability, benchmarked by the Global Food Safety Initiative. This isn’t just a certification. It’s a commitment to accountability at every level. Because we own the facility, we oversee everything: – Ingredient sourcing and verification – Full lot traceability from ingredient to final bag – Rigorous quality and safety testing before any product is released Every batch is made with intention, and nothing leaves Riverstone until it meets our standards. At the center of it all is our gentle air-drying process, a slower, lower-temperature method that helps preserve nutrients, protect protein integrity, and maintain the natural flavor of real food. It’s not built on shortcuts or high-heat processing. We own the process. We stand behind every batch. We can tell you exactly where your dog’s food comes from, and how it was made. That’s Riverstone. That’s Wisdom.
