As animal agriculture puts undue stress on our planet, it also puts enormous stress on factory farmed animals. Our mission tells us we have a core responsibility to consider the quality of lives of all animals in our supply chain at every step of the process.

Our commitment is to represent their voice with our actions and make meaningful decisions that have a positive impact on their overall well-being.

We’ve grown as a company and have made good progress to ensure alignment with our protein sources. But we are not done. If fact, we only just begun our journey to test boundaries and our own innovations – for the Earth and its animals.

The Journey Begins

We’ve taken our first step of reducing our reliance on animal agriculture by becoming partners for good with The Better Meat Co. 

Founded in 2018, The Better Meat Co. (TBMC) is a plant-based ingredients company in the human space that’s built around one central objective: to help meat lovers reduce their meat consumption in an enjoyable way. And we all know how much dogs love the taste of meat!

At TBMC, they have searched the world for authentic, hand-crafted ingredients that offer a meaty experience by using the power of plants for humans. Now they are working exclusively with us to do the same for dogs.

Our traveling partner

Paul Shapiro is the CEO and cofounder of The Better Meat Co. and the host of the Business for Good Podcast.

He is known for being an animal protection advocate, both as the founder of Animal Outlook (formerly Compassion Over Killing) and a Vice President at the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).

In 2018 he authored the book Clean Meat: How Growing Meat Without Animals Will Revolutionize Dinner and the World.

Paul and his team will continue to guide us through the science and ethics of developing our plant-based products.

A rating of 5 = 100% PLANTS. (no meat, eggs, or dairy) and makes the best impact.

A rating of 4 = MEATLESS. These products are completely free of factory-farmed meat and have strong impact.

A rating of 3 = REDUCETARIAN. The products will have less factory farmed meat and makes moderate impact.
