In 2015, we set the pace for digestibility testing on rawhide alternatives with our longstanding partner Dr. Tim Bowser, a food scientist and leading expert in digestibility. Dr. Bowser is now an industry leader in digestibility testing in the rawhide alternative chew space, using learnings at Earth Animal to help create safer chews at other companies. We are proud to be on the forefront of safety for animals. And, true to its reason for creation, we pride ourselves that No Hides continually offer greater digestibility over rawhide.
Our testing protocols:
We use a 24-hour in-vitro test to understand total digestibility in the stomach (6 hours) and intestine (18 hours). Gastric and intestinal juices are used to mimic the dog’s GI tract. Scores are based on degradation “digestion” of the product.
We annually benchmark our product for digestibility against rawhide and our key competitors to ensure our stringent safety guidelines are met.

My dogs used to love these treats. They never had a problem digesting the treats and I have been buying them for well over a year now. Just recently, every time I give one to my dog which is about one a day, couple hours later it’s diarreah-ville. I stopped for a couple weeks thinking maybe it was something else. Then I tried a different flavor. One dog didn’t even want to take it (I was surprised, it was his favorite), and the other 2 ate it and then same thing, diarrhea afterwards. Not sure if it’s a bad batch lately or what. I purchase from Pet Food Express. Read online a scientific research was done on these treats and there is actually raw hide in them. Maybe that’s it. Who knows but won’t buy again. Sad.

My dog Paka is spoiled, but only because he is an extremely well behaved dog. He gets a Greenie every day, and until I found this product, Greenies were his favorite treat for 6 years. The first time I gave Paka a No-Hide pork stick, he went absolutely insane! I have never seen my dog express such delight with any treat, and believe me he has had plenty haha! Now, if offered both treats simultaneously, he will choose the pork stick every time- Paka has spoken!
