Celebrating Change a Pet’s Life Day – all week long!

Every day this week, we will be sharing stories of how our Earth Animal pack has changed a pet’s life – and been changed themselves. We are passionate about preserving and enhancing the quality of life for animals and our team lives that commitment every day in their own lives. As you read our stories, we hope that you are reminded of the magic that comes from adopting an animal, and the beautiful bond we share with our best friends.

Brick’s Story

I was exiting the freeway in Los Angeles in 2015 when I spotted a dog in the bushes. It took me half an hour to get him on a leash, and I drove this skittish but street-savvy little dog home. He was filthy, stinky, tired, hungry, but in good shape and quite handsome. I put him in my garage for the night with lots of tasty food and posted on Facebook looking for a foster or his possible parent.

The next day I received a private message from a friend of the actor David Duchovny that he wanted him ASAP. Legally, he had to go to a shelter for 5 days to give any rightful guardian a chance to claim him, but no one did.

David adopted his new dog up and off to a mansion in Malibu he went. David immediately named him Brick for his sturdy appearance and as a nod to pro football star D’Brickashaw Ferguson.

In Malibu, he ran on a gated private beach shared with other big-name movie stars. He began a new jet-setting life, traveling with David to his lavish Manhattan penthouse, to David’s film sets, David is on, and on his tour bus with The David Duchovny Band. Quite the life and life change for such a beautiful boy and a sweetheart of a man.
