Our commitment to quality, verified.

What is the National Animal Supplement Council Seal?

The NASC Seal is not given, it's earned. To display it, we must meet rigorous quality control standards: consistent third-party audits, random product testing, and strict labeling guidelines.

Most Apothecary liquid supplements carry the NASC Seal, providing an additional layer of assurance that what's on the label is what's in the bottle, and that our quality standards are verified by an independent body, not just claimed by us.

Not sure where to start? That's exactly why we're here.

With eight needs, choosing the right Apothecary product might take a conversation. Our team of experts can help you find the right combination for your dog or cat.

How long have these formulas been around?

Our Apothecary formulas have over 30 years of heritage.

Earth Animal was founded in 1979 by Dr. Bob and Susan Goldstein. Dr. Bob, an integrative veterinarian, began developing herbal formulas in his practice decades ago. Long before "holistic/integrative pet care" was mainstream.

The Apothecary story:

  • Our Supplement Formulas developed through decades of clinical veterinary practice
  • Crafted by a master herbalist in the Green Mountains of Vermont
  • Refined over 30+ years based on real-world results
  • Rooted in traditional herbalism, backed by modern understanding

These aren't new-to-market formulas chasing trends. They're time-tested blends that have helped countless dogs and cats over three decades. That's why we say we're "Rooted in Nature, Backed by Science".

How long does it take for supplements to work?

They don’t work overnight, and that’s the point. Our supplements are designed to support the body over time What to Expect

  • You may notice small changes within a few days
  • Most benefits build over 2–4 weeks of daily use
  • Continued use helps maintain balance long-term

Why It Takes Time: We’re not forcing a quick fix. We’re helping your dog or cat build from the inside out, supporting digestion, skin, immune function, and overall wellbeing in a way that lasts. For Best Results

  • Use daily, consistency is everything
  • Stick with it, don’t skip around
  • Give it time to do what it’s designed to do

A Simple Way to Think About It: You’re not flipping a switch, you’re building a foundation.

Stay consistent. Give it time. That’s when you’ll see the difference.

Can I give supplements to my pet if they're on medication?

If your dog or cat is on medication, it’s always best to talk with your veterinarian before adding anything new. Herbs and supplements can be incredibly supportive, but they can also interact with certain medications, depending on what your animal is taking. A Simple Approach

  • Start with a conversation with your veterinarian
  • Share the product or ingredients you’re considering
  • Take it slow and introduce one thing at a time

Why It Matters We believe in supporting the body naturally, but it has to be done thoughtfully and safely, especially when medications are involved.

Will Healthy Weight make my pet lose weight without diet changes?

Healthy Weight is designed to support metabolism and help the body use nutrients more efficiently, but lasting, meaningful weight change comes from a balanced approach. Think of it as supporting the system, not forcing weight loss. How it helps:

  • Supports a healthy metabolism so the body can better utilize fat for energy
  • L-Carnitine helps transport and burn fat more efficiently
  • Chia seed & rice bran provide fiber to help pets feel satisfied and supported between meals
  • Rich in vitamins and minerals to nourish the body during weight management

This means better energy, better balance—and a body more ready to reach and maintain a healthy weight. What you may notice:

  • Your pet feels more satisfied after meals
  • Steadier energy levels
  • Support for gradual, healthy weight changes over time

For best results: Healthy Weight works best alongside:

  • Thoughtful portion control
  • Daily movement and activity
  • A consistent feeding routine

If your dog or cat has underlying health concerns or is on medication, check with your veterinarian before use.

Do these supplements have calories? Will they affect my pet's weight?

Yes, but very minimal. What That Means

  • Drops: given in small amounts, calories are negligible
  • Powders: small daily servings, not enough to impact weight

For Most Dogs & Cats You don’t need to worry, our supplements and herbal drops won’t meaningfully affect weight when used as directed. If Weight Is a Concern If your dog or cat is on a strict plan, just keep everything in balance and check with your veterinarian if needed

Accountability is not a destination.
This is where we are so far.

B Corp certification. Plastic neutral. 1% for the planet. These are not just badges. They are commitments with consequences. As a public benefit corporation, our obligations to people, animals, and planet are in our charter. And we are not done yet.

Forty-five years of refusing to settle.

Two founders. One conviction. A refusal to accept what this industry calls good enough. Dr. Bob Goldstein on the science. Susan Goldstein on the conscience.

Over decades of holistic veterinary practice, Dr. Bob saw the same thing again and again: animals responding to plant-based support in ways that conventional medicine had overlooked. That experience became the foundation for Apothecary: a range of herbal drops formulated with clinical intent, built around the eight most common wellness needs, and designed to work gently with your pet's biology rather than override it. Time-honored botanicals, held to a modern veterinary standard.

Family owned since 1979, still guided by the same belief that started it all: that the animals we love deserve far better than they're usually offered.
