There are an estimated 899 species of ticks in the world, of which over 90 occur in the continental U.S. So, to have the best evaluation of our products without testing dozens of tick species, we chose 2 species that
are to our point of view representative of most of the species. Ticks from the Ixodidae family are the most common and often choose different hosts: some species need 2 hosts for their development (e.g. Rhipicephalus sanguineus, the brown dog tick), some others need 3 (e.g. Ixodes ricinus, the sheep ticks). We are using these two species, Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus, because they are representative of different host seeking behavior, but also because they have two different climatic requirements (dry for Rhipicephalus sanguineus and wet for Ixodes ricinus).
These two species are the most successful ticks: Rhipicephalus sanguineus is present all across the United States while Ixodes ricinus colonized most of European countries, Northern Africa, part of Middle East and is also heavily represented as the “Deer Tick” in Eastern United States. These 2 species are expanding their distribution range quite a bit though. By conducting our tests on these two species, we feel we cover all the tick species parasitizing pets but not the bird ticks.

Not great. 45 minute hike and found 5 ticks and counting. Not the typical 10+ but still, not what was to be expected and hoped for.

I am one of those people that mosquitoes flock to. Living in Illinois they are terrible. They can even bite through clothing, which I didn’t know was possible until I moved here. None of the traditional bug sprays work for me, no matter how much deet. This stuff, actually keeps them away! I couldn’t believe it. I use it for me and my dogs whenever we go into the woods and couldn’t be happier. Combined with the Nature’s Miracle powder and you have protection for your pups both internally and externally. Absolutely love this product line!

I’ve been using this spray on my Maddie (Lhasa Apso) since she was a puppy and she’s 9 years old. As long as you are vigilant about spraying on the dog’s underside, hiney and legs it works perfectly! I tried the messy chemicals on the neck – gross! And don’t get it on your hands or inhale when applying, and she always itched and scratched he neck area. It’s almost impossible to keep it isolated to the application site. It gets all over everything. So, I tried pills her 1st year – yuck! She drooled excessively, sometimes got sick and seemed agitated. Thought it was my imagination – I did some research and all it takes is one glance at the description of the awful chemicals and the side effects to make you look for a natural approach. I have excellent success with this flea and tick product, always have and it’s the first one I’ve used that isn’t sticky at all! No more pills – ever. Started using Earth Animal 9 years ago and never looked back. 🙂

I’ve tried this product out and I LOVE it so much. It did wonders for my delicious skin to mosquitos. Normally at dog park in eaten alive within 5min but someone squirted this product on me & wham! Not a bite on me after that. So the fact that this will work on my boys (dogs) I’m estatic. So now I’m here to buy this product. Yeah boy just hope it’s fast delivery since summer almost gone. It’ll keep tho. Just try this to be amazed!!!!

This stuff is awesome!
Although I give my dog regular flea and tick protection, having this on hand for when we go into the woods or high grasses is perfect!
This also keeps those pesky gnats away from her. What a God send. I hate those things crawling all over her.
I started using this on myself. I have yet to get bit by a mosquito since purchasing this. I would normally get bit almost daily.
The product has a very nice minty smell which is so much nicer to wear.
I highly recommend this product!
