Crafted with Heart + Science.

Heart without science is hope. Science without heart is just chemistry. For 45 years we have refused to choose between them. Every ingredient, every formula, every standard we hold is the result of that refusal. Veterinary expertise and genuine ethical conviction, working together. Because your dogs and cats deserves both. And so do you.

Veterinary-led. Always.

Every recipe, every chew, every formula is shaped by deep veterinary expertise because good intentions without knowledge are not enough.

Built on conscience. Held to account.

Gut-first philosophy. High welfare sourcing. B Corp certification. These are not separate initiatives. They are all expressions of the same founding conviction: that caring for animals and caring for the planet are the same thing.

Your Questions, Answered

You ask and we answer! FAQs about No-Hide Rolls.

What proteins/recipes does Wisdom come in?

Seven recipes. Seven ways to nourish. One shared standard. We don’t think in “flavors.” We think in sources, landscapes, and purpose, each recipe rooted in where it comes from, and what it brings to the bowl.

For simplicity. For sensitivity. For going back to basics. Single-Protein Recipes

  • Chicken — GAP-rated chicken, thoughtfully raised, paired with nutrient-rich organs and sustainably sourced sardines. Clean. Digestible. Foundational.
  • Turkey — Lean, gentle turkey with organs and sardines. A quiet, steady choice for dogs who do best with less complexity.

For variety. For instinct. For the full spectrum of nutrition. “From the…” Recipes

  • From the Land — Grass-fed venison, beef, and bison. Red meats, rich and grounding. Strength from open pastures.
  • From the Sea — Wild-caught catfish and clams. Mineral-rich, deeply nourishing. Drawn from clean waters.
  • From the Air — Quail, duck, and goose. Diverse poultry, thoughtfully sourced. Lighter proteins with depth.
  • From the Seed — A plant-forward recipe with lentils, sunflower, alfalfa, quinoa, and potatoes. Proof that nourishment can come from the soil, too.
  • From the Soil — Crickets and black soldier fly larvae. A more sustainable path forward. Nutrient-dense, low impact. (Adult dogs only.)

What they all share:

  • Real, whole ingredients, nothing anonymous
  • Muscle + organ nutrition for depth and balance
  • Made in our own Riverstone Kitchen, Maryland
  • Formulated to meet AAFCO standards for complete and balanced nutrition

Different sources. Different strengths. One philosophy. Choose one. Rotate many. Follow your dog’s lead.

Because better food doesn’t come from one place. It comes from understanding them all.

What does the 'From the...' recipe names mean?

Named for where it begins. Held to how it’s raised. “From the…” tells you exactly what matters: the origin of the primary protein, and the standards behind it. Land. Sea. Air. Seed. Soil. From open land. From clean waters. From the air, the soil, and the seed. Each recipe traces back to its origin—where quality, welfare, and sustainability begin.

  • From the Land — grass-fed, pasture-raised red meats
  • From the Sea — wild-caught fish, naturally rich in omegas
  • From the Air — humanely raised, novel poultry for sensitive dogs
  • From the Seed — plant-forward proteins, complete and balanced
  • From the Soil — insect protein, raised with minimal impact We also offer simply sourced Chicken and Turkey recipes, GAP-rated poultry for those who do best with one trusted protein.

Can I rotate between Wisdom recipes?

Yes. Feed with intention. Rotate with purpose. We believe nutrition isn’t static, and your dog’s bowl shouldn’t be either. Rotating Wisdom recipes brings variety, supports the microbiome, and reflects how animals are meant to eat: diverse, whole, and ever-changing. Why rotate:

  • Diversity builds resilience. Different proteins and ingredients nourish the body in different ways—supporting a stronger, more balanced system
  • A thriving microbiome. Variety helps keep the gut ecosystem active, engaged, and adaptable
  • Less pickiness, more instinct. Dogs raised on variety tend to stay open to real food
  • Clarity over time. Rotation helps you understand what your dog truly thrives on

How to rotate:

  • Bag to bag. Finish one, begin another recipe, simple and effective
  • Meal to meal. Alternate recipes between breakfast and dinner
  • In the same bowl. Mix recipes together for built-in variety

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Every Wisdom recipe is complete and balanced, so you can rotate freely, without gaps
  • Sensitive stomach? Ease the transition over a few days
  • Pay attention. Your dog will tell you what works

Many pet parents rotate between single-protein recipes and our “From the…” blends, bringing together simplicity and diversity in every bowl.

Is Wisdom safe for dogs with allergies?

Yes, It can be, when you know what your dog needs to avoid. Start with what’s inside. Wisdom is built on simple, transparent recipes, real ingredients you can recognize, nothing hidden behind vague terms or unnecessary additives. Thoughtfully sourced. Carefully chosen.

  • Novel proteins like quail, duck, and goose in From the Air
  • Alternative proteins like insects in From the Soil
  • A plant-based recipe, From the Seed, for dogs with multiple animal protein sensitivities
  • No artificial colors, flavors, or synthetic preservatives. Ever

Because when it comes to sensitivities, every ingredient matters But every dog is different. Allergies are individual, and what works for one may not work for another. What to consider:

  • Always review the full ingredient list for your dog’s specific triggers
  • Wisdom is made in a facility that handles multiple proteins
  • Some recipes include ingredients like eggs, grains (such as quinoa and oats), or fish

Start with clarity. If your dog has known or suspected food allergies: Work with your veterinarian to identify specific triggers Choose a recipe that avoids those ingredients, often starting with a novel protein Transition slowly and monitor closely Real food gives you options. Thoughtful formulation gives you confidence. Because when you understand what goes in, you can make better choices for what comes next.

What is air-drying?

Gently Air-Dried. Deeply nourishing. Less heat. More life. Air-drying is a slow, gentle process that removes moisture while protecting the nutrients food naturally holds—no high heat, no shortcuts. Why it matters: • Nutrients remain intact and easier to absorb

  • Gentler on digestion than heavily processed foods
  • Creates a nutrient-dense food, you feed less per meal
  • Preserves real, usable nutrition

Air-dried at Riverstone, our SQF-certified kitchen in Maryland, where we control the quality from start to finish. Unlike kibble made through high-heat extrusion, air-dried food preserves more of the natural nutrition.

The result is shelf-stable food with many benefits of fresh feeding, minus the refrigeration and hassle. Just open the bag and serve.

Where is Wisdom Dog Food made?

Wisdom is crafted in the USA at Riverstone, our own SQF-certified facility in Maryland. We didn’t partner with a co-packer. We built our own. Riverstone was designed from the ground up to make food differently, under Safe Quality Food (SQF) certification, a globally recognized standard for food safety, quality, and traceability, benchmarked by the Global Food Safety Initiative. This isn’t just a certification. It’s a commitment to accountability at every level. Because we own the facility, we oversee everything: – Ingredient sourcing and verification – Full lot traceability from ingredient to final bag – Rigorous quality and safety testing before any product is released Every batch is made with intention, and nothing leaves Riverstone until it meets our standards. At the center of it all is our gentle air-drying process, a slower, lower-temperature method that helps preserve nutrients, protect protein integrity, and maintain the natural flavor of real food. It’s not built on shortcuts or high-heat processing. We own the process. We stand behind every batch. We can tell you exactly where your dog’s food comes from, and how it was made. That’s Riverstone. That’s Wisdom.
